Help your child become familiar with your town by pointing out places of interest like the police station, library, town hall and fire station. Discuss street names and the routes you took to get there. It may not seem like a big deal, but knowing their area well could come in handy in emergency situations. It’s also important to teach your child their address, phone number and an additional number of someone you trust.
